This is the game my daughter is waiting for a long time. It is fun to play and also fun to watch them play plus it really make you run and jump. The only drawback was the mat is not stay still as you run and jump on it. You need to look into the tv screen and the mat at the same time in order to score high.
This is an awesome game for both kids and adults. It really gets you active and I love the part with the teamwork.
It's competitive because when you do it, you are placed in 1st through 5th place based upon your score. Our family really really enjoys this game. We do it almost every day. Our little guy strives to beat his sisters, and sometimes is able to do it with lots of practice. So this game is at a difficulty level that's challenging enough for a 50 yr old, but not too hard that an 8 yr old doesn't feel like giving up.We love it.
On the mat there is a plastic cover that holds the "brain" of the game which is easy to step on so be careful with that. I was contemplating WII FIT but glad I went with this for Christmas this year with their new WII. If you are new to the WII and are thinking about getting a game that will "trick" your kids into getting cardio exercise this is it. Other than that I give this game an A++++++. We are entering February and they have played this game every day so far. It is a little hard for a DAD to play alongside an older child 7+ but not impossible. Hope this helps you. We have an 8, 9, and 16 year old that love this game.
They could have made some of the games a little easier to play. My son received this game for Christmas. He doesn't play it very often which surprises me because I thought he would love the mat and action of this game but some of the games seem too difficult for him. Some of the games are fun. I just think they could have done better on some of the ones they chose.
